Global Mischief: acts of God or acts of man?

“ Mischief has appeared on land and sea because of (the meed) that the hands of men have earned, that (God) may give them a taste of some of their deeds: in order that they may turn back (from evil)” (30:41)

Ibnu Katsir had describe the word mischief is the lower agriculture production. Prof Dr Hamka had interpret ‘mischief’ is about environmental pollution. But according to Tafsir Al Maraghiy, mischief is due to the sins by the mankind. read more

About Me

He is a graduate from National University of Malaysia. After graduated from UKM, he joined Friends of the Earth Malaysia as a Research Officer to promote Education for Sustainable Development particularly to the rural society. Then he joined environment consultant team to conduct environmental studies and environmental audit at Pulau Layang Layang (spartly island), Sabah and the 'mammoth' Hidroelectric Bakun Dam, Sarawak respectively. He continuously developed his career by joining Sime Darby as an Assistant Manager (Plantation). While working in Sime darby he was directly involved in coordinating Environment, Safety and Health within the workplace operations.His passion towards environmental studies,research and education drive him to join University Science Malaysia (USM) as a Fellow of Academic Staff Training Scheme.Now he is furthering his Masters in Environmental Engineering, University of Technology Malaysia.
